Frequently Asked Questions about AIM
|
New Adventures In Missions believes that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God. We believe that the Bible is the only God-breathed, inerrant and authoritative Word of God. We believe that the Bible is the only and all-sufficient basis for the restoration of the simple New Testament pattern of Christianity. We believe that one is saved by grace only through obedient faith in Jesus Christ, according to God's divinely revealed plan of salvation which includes belief, repentance, confession, immersion for the remission of sins, and a lifestyle characterized by obedience to the Word of God. We believe that it is essential that you believe there is one church, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father of all.
Teens and college students come from across the US and Canada to serve on AIM mission teams around the world! Ambassador Teams begin their projects with seven days of training at AIM's facilities in southwest Indiana. Qualified instructors lead training sessions on holding a VBS, music, mixing and pouring concrete, missions, brick laying, clowning, etc. AIM trains each team for maximum performance during their project.
Your team becomes a family. Relationships develop and strengthen, creating an atmosphere of support and love. You and your team will be prepared to make a difference on the field, at home, and in the lives of others.

This information will help answer questions about the exciting weekend program New Adventures In Missions shares with churches around the country. AIM staff and your youth leaders will work together to arrange a Rally full of challenges and goal-setting ideas. Your church provides the food and housing.
Saturday is filled with activities that promote team building communication skills. Presentations will be made about a number of countries that AIM teams have visited. It brings an awareness of other cultures and shows what teens can accomplish when they work together for the Lord.
AIM's goal is to help each person understand what his or her role can be everyday on their own mission fields (in their English class, in their neighborhood or on an AIM project).
Foreign missions is something one doesn't have to do, but may choose to do. We want teens to see that missions can be exciting and a real service for God, not just hard work and eating grubs in Africa.
They also learn that not all are called to be missionaries away from home, but that all Christians are called.
"Emmanuel labor" is serving God with your hands. Every summer New Adventures In Missions sends teams of enthusiastic young people and adults to help alleviate the shortage of workers on the field. Teams take what they have learned during Success Camp to pour the sidewalks for an orphanage in Jamaica or to build an orphanage in Honduras.
AIM evangelism teams reach out through the use of testimonials, preaching, music, puppets, ballooning, clowning, and a myriad of other outreaches. Imagine holding a VBS with children in Northern Ireland or the Caribbean, or teaching the Bible in Australian schools! That could be you sharing a devotion with Honduran youth! Join us next summer!
